The Ohio Light Opera

History & Information

For 43 years, the Ohio Light Opera (OLO) has produced high quality operettas and musical comedy. You can see classic productions by Gilbert and Sullivan or more modern shows like South Pacific and Carousel.

With 141 show titles currently on their credits, the OLO has a world-class reputation. Their mission is "to preserve, promote and produce the best operettas and musicals ever written, and to do them in respectful and traditional settings."

In future seasons, the company hopes to honor their existing mission and broaden their audience base with time-honored productions.

The Ohio Light Opera is supported by the College of Wooster as well as a large list of generous private donors who give to their annual fund.

Absolutely fantastic. The theater equivalent of paying for a five-course meal at a Michelin three-star restaurant for fifteen bucks.

Ohio Light Opera is amazing! The shows just get better every year - as impossible as that sounds.

Excellent repertory company performing musical theater with full orchestra. Orginally performing light opera such as Gilbert & Sullivan shows, this 41st season included more contemporary shows including "South Pacific" and Sondheim's "Into The Woods." Loved "Girl "Crazy" for its music and dancing, especially the full cast tap finale to Gershwin's I Got Rhythm. A true gem!
